Dear friends and families of Yujin Gakuen:
Today is the final day of the first semester. Remember that tomorrow is a grading day for teachers, and that means no school Friday. With half the school year done, families (and staff) are likely wondering when we will finally start hybrid. That’s still not determined, but it is encouraging that staff are beginning to get vaccinated for COVID-19, including staff at Yujin Gakuen. The sooner our staff will receive vaccinations, the sooner we can return to normal.
Sincerely,
Thomas Piowaty
Kocho Sensei
Report Cards – UpdateIn last week’s newsletter, in the calendar section, we showed that report cards would be sent home on February 8th. Since last week, there has been a change in how and when we will send home report cards. Instead of being emailed report cards on February 8th, families will be able to pick up printed report cards at the supply pickup, scheduled for next Thursday. Please see announcement on Supply Pick-Up – Round 5 below for more information. Report cards for non-custodial parents or parents who have shared custody will have a second set of report cards (standard and Japanese) included in the supply bags; however if you need the report card emailed or mailed separately, please contact Karen in the office to let her know you need a report card sent separately. |
Supply Pick-Up – Round 5
A reminder that the fifth supply distribution is scheduled for Thursday, February 4th. Note that report cards will be included in the supply bags.
Please see details below:
Welcome Claryn LindleyWe are pleased to welcome Claryn Lindley, our new 6-hour education assistant. She is a graduate of the University of Oregon where she earned a degree in international business and a minor in Japanese, Business. Claryn spent a year studying at Senshu University and teaching English in Japan. Claryn speaks conversational Japanese and looks forward to being able to use her Japanese language skills at Yujin Gakuen. What a bonus for us!

School Choice for YG SiblingsStudent who has already enrolled at Yujin Gakuen will not need to apply for School Choice again next year. The only exception is for students who move out of the 4J boundaries. If you have a younger sibling and you want your child to enroll in kindergarten next year, remember that you still need to apply for the younger sibling for School Choice. See information below about School Choice and the application process. |
Yujin Gakuen School Choice VideoLast Thursday, we held a presentation for prospective families who were interested in learning more about Yujin Gakuen. We heard that families of students who are already here would appreciate watching the video of our staff describing our program at each grade level. If you would like to view the video, please click below: If you know anyone who might be interested in Yujin Gakuen, please share the video and encourage them to visit our website for more information. |
