Wednesday On-Site Activity – June 16th

Wednesday On-Site Activity – June 16th

Dear friends and families of Yujin Gakuen:

I have an update about our Otanoshimi Kai event that we are planning for this Wednesday. We are changing our pick up location. Instead of dropping off and picking up in the west parking lot, we are asking families to pick up from the north parking lot (the same area where students, grades 3-5, get picked up). With the pick up being in a different area, this will ensure that the drop off and pick up will run smoothly.

In summary:

Drop off – west parking lot (where the last supply distribution was held near the first grade classrooms). Please park in the lot and walk your child(ren) to the area under the tents.

Pick up – north parking lot (where students in grades 3-5 were dropped off and picked up). Slant parking is available along with pause parking along the curb.

The following information was shared with families last week except for what is printed in red (which involves the change in the pick up location).

Students are scheduled to be on site by grade levels regardless of their cohort or SSO status. Students who are in SSO are invited to attend with their grade-level peers, but they are not expected to attend if families are concerned about exposure to other students and staff.

8:45-10:00    4th grade (49 students)
10:15-11:30    3rd grade (44 students)
    2nd grade (50 students)
    1st grade (44 students)
    Kinder (50 students)

Textbook return – We will also be using this opportunity to collect textbooks that were loaned out, so please return textbooks when you bring your child(ren) to school.

The schedule of events for students at Otanoshimi Kai will be as follows:

Drop off  – Students will need to be dropped off in the west parking lot (near the first grade wing where we have done supply distribution). Students will check in with Laura Whitney. Attendance will be taken for contact tracing. They will return their textbooks at this time.

Students will be screened for COVID symptoms. If students pass the screening, they will be lined up and walked to the play areas.

Otanoshimi Kai Play Areas and Activities– Students may choose among several activities and areas. Staff will ensure that students in each area are appropriately distanced (6 feet apart, wearing masks).

Popsicles – Approximately 10-15 minutes before the end of the session, students will receive popsicle sticks or treats on the track. Students will use hand sanitizer to clean their hands before eating popsicle treats.

Pick Up – At the end of their scheduled time, students will be escorted back to the north parking lot where they will be released upon visual contact with appropriate family member or caregiver.

If you have questions regarding the schedule. Our number is: (541) 790-4606.

Thank you for supporting Yujin Gakuen, and see you Wednesday!
