YG Family Newsletter – November 23, 2022
Dear friends and families of Yujin Gakuen:
The first part of the 2022-2023 year is going by quickly, and it is an exciting time. We are thankful for many things as we reflect. Please let me share just a few them with you:
We are pleased with our students who come to Yujin Gakuen every day ready to learn. They provide us all a daily reminder of why we are here and what is essential.
We are grateful for the support of the parents in building an excellent community for our students. We are also thankful that our parents have kept the trust and confidence in us. They continue to leave their most valuable ones with us. We have parents who work hard and advocate to be a partner in their children’s education, safety, and well-being. For this, we will always be so thankful. We are also grateful for our volunteers who enthusiastically provide so much to our school.
We are grateful for the teachers, education assistants, and other support staff, who care about student success and have the best interests of our students at heart. We see dedicated and hard-working individuals going above and beyond to make sure that great things happen in our school. They do make a difference, and our students benefit from those efforts.
I hope you all have a great holiday weekend, and thank you for supporting Yujin Gakuen. 🍥

Gratitude TreeYG recently decided to set up a gratitude tree. Students are writing what they are grateful for on ginkgo leaves and filling up the tree. We have two trees up- one for Kinder, 1st, and 2nd grade, and one for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. It has been a joy to watch the tree grow and become more colorful with thankful thoughts and intentions. |
Winter Resource ListIf you or a loved one could use extra assistance this holiday season, please click the below link. The resource list offers options for food boxes, holiday meal sites, and holiday gift programs. The resources extend to Creswell, Cottage Grove, Junction City, and even Veneta. |
Erin’s LawParents, this STOP, WALK, TALK poster describes what many of our classrooms teach for dealing with unwanted behaviors among peers at school. You may want to print, or review this process with your child if they are having a small problem with another student at school. And as the poster suggests, please encourage your child to bring bigger problems to an adult so we can help solve the issue. Check the below link for more resources and information on Erin’s Law.

Volunteer at Yujin GakuenMany of our parents asked what steps they need to take to volunteer at school. Please see the links below or visit the 4J webpage “Volunteer in the Eugene District 4J.” As a parent or guardian, you may wonder how you can get involved in your child’s education. One great way to do this is by volunteering in the Eugene District 4J schools. Volunteering offers many benefits for both you and your child. It’s a great way to meet other parents and get to know the teachers and staff at your child’s school. It can also be a fun and rewarding way to spend some time with your child. If you’re interested in volunteering, there are a few things you need to do. First, you’ll need to complete a background check. You can find more information about this on the 4J website. You’ll also need to complete a mandatory training session. Once you’ve done these things, you’ll be ready to start volunteering. So why not give it a try? Volunteering is a great. See the links below to get started or visit “Volunteer in the Eugene District 4J.” Volunteer Application and Guidelines
