PTO updates!

Hi YG Community!

May is the month of community events, and we would love to have you volunteer with us!

1. May 6th-10th - Teacher Appreciation Week is a time when we can show our amazing YG teachers some extra support and appreciation with breakfast, lunch, snacks, treats, goodies, etc. Please consider vegetarian, gluten-free, or dairy-free options. 2. May 7th - Volunteers are needed at YG to create envelopes for the jog-a-thon happening at the end of May. Volunteers can join Jamie on Tuesday from 8:30-10:00 or pick a time that works for their schedule. All supplies and examples will be provided.

3. May 8th - Join us for a hybrid PTO Meeting from 6:30-7:30pm. We will have 3 votes that need community approval; intern funding, merchandise funding, and new board members. The board has 3 openings for next school year - Vice President, Secretary, and Volunteer Coordinator all of which are 1-year terms. If interested, please email ygschoolpto@gmail.com by May 7th.

4. May 17th - Guy Lee Elementary (755 Harlow Rd, Springfield, OR. 97477) has invited Yujin Gakuen to participate in their annual Asian American Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Celebration. Community service hours are available. Please sign up to volunteer at the YG table - volunteersignup.org/LKKRE.

5. May 24th - Asian Night Market (at Eugene Downtown Farmers Market Pavilion & Plaza 8th & Oak St.) has invited YG to be a part of the children's area. Community service hours are available. Volunteer link will be sent out once details are finalized.

6. May 28th - Jikyusou (Jog-A-Thon) will be YG's fundraiser to provide resources for activities above and beyond a school budget. Be on the lookout for more information sent home with students next week! This is a school event, not PTO, but we're hoping to support YG staff by encouraging people to volunteer and raise money.
