YG Family Newsletter – November 10th, 2022
Dear friends and families of Yujin Gakuen:
It was a short week for students, but a long couple of days for classroom teachers. They are taking today off as compensation for working two, long 12-hour days during parent conferences. I hope you take a moment to recognize a veteran, and have a great weekend.

YG Football Volunteer Request Hi YG families! It’s been a busy and profitable season at the UO Beverage Booth. The PTO has raised approximately $17,000 through serving at the games! Can you imagine how many other fundraisers our students would need to complete to match that? We have a dedicated, regular volunteer crew that come back year after year and work every game. We’re looking for new people to come join the fun, meet parents, and help support our wonderful kids. There are just two games left this season, on November 12th and 19th, so two more chances to have a blast supporting YG! If you still need to get your OLCC permit, let us help you get started! We’re happy to walk anyone through the steps. After that, you don’t have to renew it for another 5 years. PTO will reimburse you for the class and permit costs. We can also help navigate the organized chaos of getting to the YG booth on game days. We know the OLCC class, plus game day volunteering, is a big time commitment. As of right now, we don’t have a way to get volunteers inside the stadium after kickoff. However, any amount of time is helpful! For example, those who have availability to set up don’t have to stay to clean up and vice versa. Please sign up below:
Thank you for your continued support. Best wishes, YG PTO |
Aki Matsuri!Aki Matsuri, or Fall Festival in English, is a Japanese traditional celebration of the season and harvest. It will be held on November 15th and will be free to students and families from any Kelly program (not just Japanese Immersion) and all of Yujin Gakuen. Teachers are welcome too! The event will include carnival games, Japanese games, and Japanese activities! |

Volunteer at Yujin GakuenMany of our parents asked what steps they need to take to volunteer at school. Please see the links below or visit the 4J webpage “Volunteer in the Eugene District 4J.” As a parent or guardian, you may wonder how you can get involved in your child’s education. One great way to do this is by volunteering in the Eugene District 4J schools. Volunteering offers many benefits for both you and your child. It’s a great way to meet other parents and get to know the teachers and staff at your child’s school. It can also be a fun and rewarding way to spend some time with your child. If you’re interested in volunteering, there are a few things you need to do. First, you’ll need to complete a background check. You can find more information about this on the 4J website. You’ll also need to complete a mandatory training session. Once you’ve done these things, you’ll be ready to start volunteering. So why not give it a try? Volunteering is a great.
